Janarion Grant named B1G Special Teams Player of the Week

Janarion Grant was honored today for his performance in Saturday's loss to Michigan. Grant ran a kickoff return back 98 yards for a touchdown and had a 67 yard punt return that set up a field goal. It was Grant's third kickoff return for a touchdown this season, tying him for the national lead with Tennessee's Evan Berry. Grant is the only player in the country with four combined (kickoffs & punts) returns for touchdowns this season.

Rutgers Men's Soccer Coach Dan Donigan Wins B1G COY

Rutgers men's soccer coach Dan Donigan was named the Big Ten coach of the year today. This is his sixth season at Rutgers, leading them to a 11-5-1 record and a 4th place finish in the conference. He led a major turnaround this season after finishing in last place a year ago. Rutgers begins conference tournament play against #5 seed Northwestern in the quarterfinals at home on Sunday.

It was announced today that Rutgers men's soccer player Jason Wright was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year! He led the conference with 13 goals, including 5 game winning goals. He led the conference with a total of 29 points and won the offensive player of the week award four times! Rutgers enters Big Ten Tournament play this Sunday at home against Northwestern.

4-star guard Kwe Parker Decommits from Rutgers

Kwe Parker announced on twitter this evening that he has decommited from Rutgers. This comes as as big surprise, considering Kwe was just on campus visiting for the Ohio State game. This is a blow to the program as Kwe is a blue chip talent and now leaves Eddie Jordan without a commitment for the 2016 recruiting class. More to come as details emerge.

Rutgers Men's Soccer Wins Seventh Game In A Row

The Rutgers men's soccer team defeated Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday 1-0 to win their seventh straight game. The goal was scored by senior Mitchell Taintor, his third of the season.. The are now 11-4-1 headed into their regular season finale against Maryland on November 4th. The third place Terps take on second place Ohio State tonight. The outcome will help determine if Rutgers has a chance to win the Big Ten title, who have one less conference game left than both of those schools. If they do win the Big Ten title, it would be the first ever for Rutgers.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Rutgers Baseball & Softball

Saturday, October 24th was the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rutgers baseball and softball facility. Here is a video highlighting the ceremony, including interviews with current players, donors and former baseball coach and Rutgers legend Fred Hill. Hopefully, there are several more groundbreaking ceremonies for additional athletic facilities (BASKETBALL) in the near future.

Rutgers Men's Soccer moves into first place in Big Ten

Rutgers did take down Ohio State after all! Sunday the men's soccer team upset the #19th ranked Buckeyes, who were the top team in the Big Ten heading into the game. Rutgers has one conference game remaining against third place Maryland on Nov 4th. They have a chance to capture the first Big Ten regular season title in Rutgers history. RUMS knocks off #18 OSU on the pitch.

Sure, we may have not beaten tOSU at The Birthplace last night, but Rutgers still managed to score a big football win over a ranked Ohio State squad; knocking off the #18 Buckeyes 1-0 to move into 1st place in the Big Ten. Kingston, Jamaica native Jason Wright scored at 74' and Fairfield goalie David Greczek made five saves for the shutout. Rutgers next hosts Omaha, before traveling to Maryland for what could be a conference clinching game against the Terrapins.
