Taj Burgess and A’nan Bridgett earned Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Wednesday. Rutgers has now had at least one or more All-Americans at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for eight consecutive seasons.
Burgess finished 15th nationally in the 400m with a time of 46.64. It was the third time that he has earned All-America status in the 400m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. It was also the fifth time overall for his career. He also earned Second Team All-American honors at the Indoor Championships earlier this year in the 400m. In addition, the redshirt junior earned All-American status in 2020 by qualifying for the Indoor event at nationals before it was cancelled due to COVID-19.
