The RAC is one of the toughest places to play in the Big Ten. During the 2021-2022 season, the Scarlet Knights are hoping to have fans back in the building and bring back that atmosphere.

On Thursday, the Big Ten announced conference matchups for next season. There have been no dates and times but it allows teams to take a look where they will face each team.

Rutgers’ home games: Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State

Rutgers’ away games: Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern

Rutgers’ home and away games: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin

The Scarlet Knights are coming off a season where they finished 10-10 in Big Ten play. They advanced one round in the Big Ten Tournament before being eliminated by Illinois. Overall, Rutgers notched a 16-12 record and clinched their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1990 — and their first victory, a 60-56 win over Clemson, since 1983.

Rutgers will be a new-look team next season. Myles Johnson (UCLA), Mamadou Doucoure (La Salle), and Montez Mathis (St. John’s) have all made their transfer decisions. Jacob Young has entered the transfer portal while also entering his name into the NBA Draft process.

The biggest decisions will come from Geo Baker and Ron Harper Jr. Both guards have entered their name into the NBA Draft but did not hire an agent. This means they could still return to Piscataway during the 2021-2022 season.

The Scarlet Knights also landed a transfer in LSU product Aundre Hyatt.

Rutgers now knows which buildings they will be visiting and who they will be hosting. One thing we do know is that if the RAC is packed this season, it will be rocking after a successful season last year.
