Welcome to episode no. 93 of the On The Banks podcast as we look back at the end of a historic season for Rutgers men’s basketball, while also looking at the road ahead this offseason. Our featured guest is longtime Rutgers basketball recruiting analyst Matt Agnoli of 247 Sports.
We discussed the dramatic shift in the transfer portal this year, how Rutgers will approach restocking the roster for next season, how the pandemic has changed recruiting in the JUCO and high school ranks, and of course specific targets to be aware of at every level for next season and beyond.
In addition, I take a detailed look at why Rutgers fell short in the end to Houston in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, what the loss reaffirmed about head coach Steve Pikiell, why there should be plenty of optimism for the next phase of his tenure on the banks and more.
In addition to this podcast addressing recruiting, I wrote about whether certain needs for next season can be covered by existing players on the roster. You can read it here.
Thanks so much to Matt for taking the time to talk with me for episode no. 93 and you can follow him on Twitter here. Thanks for listening and be well.
