Greg Schiano and the Scarlet Knights keep piling up commitments from the Class of 2022.

On Wednesday, 4-star running back Samuel Brown continued the trend. He announced his commitment to Rutgers via Twitter and referenced the relationship he has built with the coaching staff.

“You really saw the change when coach Schiano got there with his new staff,” Brown told 247 Sports. “You just saw a big change and Rutgers was competing with a lot of the bigger programs, especially in the Big Ten. I saw them compete well with Michigan. They didn’t play bad against Ohio State. That’s a big card in it as well because you see they are working hard every day out on the field.”

Brown is a product of Wyndmoor La Salle High School in Wyndmoor, PA. Back on Dec. 31, Brown cut down his list to 11 schools. He ultimately chose Rutgers over Nebraska, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Duke, Michigan State, Pitt, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia, and West Virginia.

“I know (Hoffman) is a coach that pushes his players really hard on and off the field,” Brown said. “Of course, he wants them to be the best they can be on the field, but also a good version of themselves off the field. A good young man. That’s why I really like him, and I like the whole staff as well. They are really genuine.”

Brown is another big fish reeled in by Schiano and his staff. This commitment continues the surge on the offensive side of the ball for the Scarlet Knights in the Class of 2022.

Brown joins wide receivers JoJo Bermudez, Rashad Rochelle, and Amarion Brown as skill position players. The offensive line landed commits from Taj White, Nelson Monegro, Joe De Croce, and Kwabena Asamoah. Defensively, Kenny Fletcher and Anthony Johnson have verbally agreed to join the Scarlet Knights.

Per 247 Sports, the 2022 recruiting class for Rutgers is currently ranked 9th national and 3rd in the Big Ten. The class currently has ten commits, three of whom are consensus 4-star prospects.
