Rutgers earns no. 10 seed and will play no. 7 seed Clemson in NCAA Tournament

The 30 year drought for the Scarlet Knights is officially over!

It’s finally time to dance!

The 30 year drought is officially over for the Rutgers men’s basketball team after being selected for an at-large bid for the 2021 NCAA Tournament on Sunday night. They were selected as the no. 10 seed in the region and will play no. 7 seed Clemson on Friday, March 19.

The game will tip-off at 9:20 p.m. ET and air on TBS with the broadcast team of Spero Dedes, Brendan Haywood and Lauren Shehadi. The game is at Bankers Life Fieldhouse where the Indiana Pacers play.

Clemson is 16-7 overall and finished in sixth place in the ACC this season. They have a KenPom ranking of no. 42.

The winner of Rutgers vs. Clemson will play the winner of no. 2 seed Houston vs. Cleveland State on Sunday, March 21.

With a 15-11 record and finishing in a tied for sixth place in the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights have a KenPom ranking of no. 34.

Rutgers is making its seventh appearance at the NCAA Tournament and first since 1991.
