Episode No. 112 of the On The Banks podcast is dedicated to Rutgers women’s soccer (15-2-0) after winning the first ever Big Ten title in program and school history. They completed a undefeated regular season last weekend to finish a perfect 10-0-0 in Big Ten play. We wanted to celebrate this historic moment, as well as look forward to what could be a special postseason run.
Our guests include Big Ten Coach of the Year Mike O’Neill, four time First Team All-Big Ten selection and three-time All-American Amirah Ali, as well as All-Big Ten performer Sam Kroeger.
All three discuss the experience of winning the first Big Ten title in Rutgers history, what winning the title means to them and the team, the offensive firepower this season, the balance between veterans and younger players on the roster, the road ahead this postseason and much more.
The program had eight players honored by the Big Ten on Thursday in addition to O’Neill.
Thanks so much to head coach Mike O’Neill, Amirah Ali, and Sam Kroeger for taking the time to give Rutgers fans such great insight into this championship season. And thank you for listening. Enjoy the show!
