The best team in the Big Ten comes to Piscataway and hope is more present in this matchup than ever before from the Rutgers faithful. Will that faith be rewarded? It’s a tall task as the Buckeyes, despite some struggles this season, still enter the game leading the Big Ten in scoring and total offense. It’s likely that starter CJ Stroud will play and OSU has an abundance of playmakers on offense. The Scarlet Knights defense was tremendous in the second half against Michigan and will need to play at the same level on Saturday for RU to have a chance.
The other question is whether the Rutgers offense can put up enough points to remain competitive. Noah Vedral and company controlled the clock in the second half against Michigan and sustained drives. They’ll need to do more of the same in this game.
Special Teams could the x-factor and Adam Korsak’s ability to put the Buckeyes deep in their own territory is a huge key.
It should be a great game day environment for this game and hopefully Rutgers can pull off the upset of the season in college football.
