The 2021 recruiting class for Rutgers football saw its 21st commitment come through on Saturday night, as 3-star offensive tackle Tyler Needham pledged to the program.

The 6’4”, 265 pound offensive lineman who attends Penn Charter in Philadelphia chose from notable offers that included Maryland, Arizona State, West Virginia, Boston College and Wake Forest among others. He is ranked the 25th best prospect in Pennsylvania’s 2021 class and 103rd best offensive tackle in the nation per 247 Sports composite rankings.

Needham is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to Rutgers in its 2021 class, joining Kevin Toth Jr., Gus Zilinskas, and Albert Reese. Offensive line assistant coach Andrew Aurich has added a lot of size and versatility with the group he has assembled so far this recruiting cycle. Needham is a physical player who has the potential to develop into a capable starter down the road for the Scarlet Knights.

With 21 commitments following the addition of Needham, the 2021 class for Rutgers is ranked 19th in the country and 7th in the Big Ten per the 247 Sports composite rankings.
