Rutgers men’s basketball continues to gain respect after a breakthrough 2019-2020 campaign. After producing 20 regular season victories for the first time in decades and its first ever winning record in Big Ten play since joining the conference, the Scarlet Knights continue to receive high praise this offseason. The Big Ten Network recently had its three studio hosts name their favorite story in any sport for the entire conference this past school year. Lead studio host Dave Revsine singled the “Rutgers revival” in men’s hoops as his choice. You can watch BTN’s longtime broadcaster give his take on this past season in this clip here:

Here are some good ones, from our hosts: @OhioStateFB's success in @ryandaytime's debut.@BadgerMBB's late push.@RutgersMBB's revival. pic.twitter.com/aP8X9lPT12
The tidbit Revsine shared about other coaches in the Big Ten doubting Rutgers down the stretch of the season makes it especially satisfying that they finished conference play with the two huge wins that they did.
With every key contributor back and a recruiting class that features Top 50 prospect Cliff Omoruyi, great expectations have arrived for Rutgers basketball. While seeing them included in many national Preseason Top 25 rankings this past month has been exciting, it’s also enjoyable to see the recognition they are getting from BTN for this past season’s big step forward.
