Zach Goodale, the son of Rutgers wrestling head coach Scott Goodale, officially signed with the football program on Wednesday.
Rutgers Nation knows this name very well ‼️‼️

Welcome, @zachgoodale_1 pic.twitter.com/wcPLF9WCyI
Goodale is a wide receiver from Toms River North high school. The 6-foot, 170 pounder was recruited by FCS schools Monmouth, Fordham, and Delaware but ultimately decided to join Rutgers as a preferred walk-on. He had 21 receptions for 587 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2019 season for a 9 win team.
His last name brings a certain expectation with it to Rutgers and there should be little doubt that Goodale will be an extremely hard worker with a team first attitude. How he develops under wide receiver coach Tiquan Underwood will be fascinating to track. It’s certainly possible that Goodale could follow in a long line of successful walk-on’s that ultimately make a big impact at Rutgers under head coach Greg Schiano.
