Game Preview

It’s January 11th and the Rutgers men’s basketball team enters its fifth game of Big Ten play in sole possession of second place. Incredible.

Staying in that position will be difficult facing a good Illinois team on the road today. However, Rutgers took the Illini to overtime last season in Champaign and look to give them another battle in this contest. Despite being without captain Geo Baker, the Scarlet Knights have a lot of confidence coming in. They’ve won six in a row, three of which were in conference play, and the last road game they routed Nebraska.

Illinois is a big, physical team, but Rutgers has more depth along the perimeter. It makes for an interesting matchup. Join us in the comment section during the action and follow us on Twitter for live commentary.
