Rutgers At Michigan: Noon ET Saturday September 28th
TV: BTN
Current Point Spread (according to VegasInsider): Michigan -27.5
Current Point Total: 49
Gut Reaction:
Rutgers heads to the Big House to take on a Michigan team that was handled pretty easily last week against Wisconsin. The Scarlet Knights will once again start Art Sitkowski at QB, who pleasantly surprised me last week with his performance against Boston College. Unfortunately for Art, his performance was all for naught as Chris Ash’s defense crumbled and allowed Boston College to put up more than enough points to secure the victory in Piscataway. Michigan will likely start incumbent starting QB Shea Patterson, who has disappointed as a Wolverine but was able to put up 260 yards and 3 TD’s last season in Piscataway.
If I Were a Betting Man:
I almost want to take Rutgers getting the points here after seeing how competent the offense looked last week and how dreadful Michigan looked but let’s take a look at some history here. Since Chris Ash took over in 2016, the average score of a game between Rutgers and Michigan has been 51.6 - 7 in favor of the Wolverines. I think the Wolverines get back on track at home and cover the spread. Give me Michigan -27.5.
Other B1G Bets:
Northwestern +24.5 at Wisconsin, Saturday 9/28 Noon EST
Minnesota -1.5 at Purdue, Saturday 9/28 Noon EST
