You thought wrestling was over?
Think again.
Mark May 6th in your calendars as Anthony Ashnault will wrestle Team USA member and 2017 World Silver Medalist James Green. Green is a former 4x All-American from Nebraska.
Tickets can be purchased here and the event will also be broadcasted on Flo Wrestling.
The “Beat the Streets” event will take place at Madison Square Garden and it is designed to set up 2019 NCAA Champions against members of Team USA in freestyle wrestling. Ashnault has previous freestyle and international experience but is not as experienced as Green, 26, who has competed since graduating college.

Ashnault, due to being a national champion, will be able to bypass the US Open and head straight for the World Team Trials later this year in order to get his spot on Team USA and then look ahead for the Olympics in 2020.
In case you missed it or can’t get enough of head coach Scott Goodale, he joined Dave O’Sullivan and I on the South Jersey Sports Report on 97.3 ESPN to talk about Ashnault, Nick Suriano and the program heading into the offseason and next Fall. You can listen to the interview in it’s entirety below.
