You have to love gold coming back to Piscataway, New Jersey.
Nick Suriano, after getting payback vs. Iowa’s Austin DeSanto in the semi finals, took down Ohio State’s Luke Pletcher in the 133 pound finals 4-1 to claim his first Big Ten Title.

Due to Michigan’s Steven Micic finishing 6th after a few medical forfeits, the seedings at NCAA’s are going to be interesting. Presumably, Oklahoma State’s Daton Fix will be the No. 1 seed and you can make an argument with his title, a split with DeSanto, and wins over the other top contenders in the weight class, aside from Micic, Suriano should be No. 2.

Rutgers wasn’t done. Anthony Ashnault claimed his third Big Ten Title with a thrilling 8-6 victory over Ohio State’s Micah Jordan. Ashnault remains undefeated and will be the No. 1 seed at NCAA’s. This could very well be a preview of the NCAA finals in two weeks in Pittsburgh.
