In the biggest Rutgers athletic news of the day, Steve Pikiell and the men’s basketball team received their second commitment for the class of 2020. Forward Oskar Palmquist committed to the program this evening via Twitter.
Beyond excited to announce that I am committing to Rutgers University! First off, I want to thank my family for always believing in me. I also want to thank all my coaches and teammates who’s helped me getting to where I am today. RUTGERS NATION LET’S GO TO WORK! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/oSDJxu9eF0

Palmquist was a target of Steve Hayn, the newest Rutgers assistant. He officially visited the program last weekend. A 6’8” small forward out of Sweden, Palmquist is playing at Central Point Christian High School in Florida.
He also visited Western Kentucky this week and earned an offer from recruiting guru Rick Stansbury. Palmquist also has drawn interest from Iowa, Kansas State and Florida, among others. This is the second commitment for the 2020 class for Steve Pikiell, joining power forward Dean Reiber who committed earlier this year.
Palmquist should help the shooting woes Pikiell has been battling since he got here. His recuriting video show him to have a sweet left stroke from deep. He will be another weapon for a program that continues to build and strengthen it’s roster on the banks.
No matter what else happens this weekend, Palmquist joining Rutgers is a big story.
Welcome to the banks, Oskar!
