Peter Lipari will enter the transfer portal and seek a sixth year of eligibility elsewhere, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
After qualifying for the 2019 NCAA Championships, Lipari went into the 2019-20 season in competition with true freshman JoJo Aragona for the spot at 141 pounds. After Aragona, edged him in the season opening wrestle offs, Lipari sat back and then competed at the Journeymen Classic this past weekend. He finished 2-1 over the weekend but it seems the staff is ready to roll with Aragona for the season and for the future.
Lipari finished 13-14 last season, with a ninth place finish at the Big Ten Championships. He went 1-2 at the NCAA Tournament in Pittsburgh. In his career, Lipari finished with a 38-30 record at Rutgers.
