No. 18 Rutgers field hockey’s Austyn Cuneo was named the Big Ten’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading her team to two wins last week. Cuneo combined to score two goals and assisted on two others to account for all of RU’s scoring in victories over no. 7 Michigan and Temple. It was her second weekly award from the conference this season.
Last Friday, Cuneo assisted on goals from Katie Larmour and Kerrie Burns, as well as scored a goal in between that led to a stunning 3-0 upset of Michigan. It was the first ever win over the Wolverines for the program and her goal right before halftime was a crushing blow to the visitors.

It was a great moment on senior day in Cuneo’s last regular season home game. Her efforts on the defensive end also helped Rutgers produce two shutouts last week. It’s been an outstanding senior campaign for Cuneo, who has set career highs with seven goals and eight assists.
The Scarlet Knights (10-6; 4-3) have now won four straight games and will face Penn State (4-11; 3-4) on the road this Sunday at noon in the regular season finale.
