How To Measure Progress
Rutgers has a tall task ahead of them today, but hopefully they can be more competitive against this Ohio State team than in years past. The only points scored by the Scarlet Knights against the Buckeyes in the past three meetings was a garbage time touchdown in 2015. Offensive coordinator John McNulty will likely be creative in his play calling and will need to get true freshman quarterback Artur Sitkowski into a groove in his first road start for Rutgers to keep up in this game.
The defense is banged up, as Bless Austin will miss the contest, while Tre Avery and Kiy Hester are game time decisions. Can the rest of what is a veteran defense pick up the slack and can the young players filling in step up? That is a huge question mark in this game and will determine how competitive Rutgers will be on Saturday.
