Rutgers Will Play Minnesota In Opening Round Of B1G Tournament

They'll play at approximately 8 p.m. On Wednesday

With Iowa defeating Northwestern on Sunday night, the Rutgers men's basketball team finished in last place of the Big Ten for the fourth consecutive season. As the 14 seed, they'll face the 11 seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers this Wednesday night in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. The game will begin at approximately 8 p.m., as it's the second game of the night. Illinois will face Iowa in the first game, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Both contests will be aired on BTN.

Rutgers (13-18; 3-15) lost at Minnesota 89-67 on December 3rd, which was the conference opener for both teams. Minnesota (15-16; 4-14) was at full strength during that meeting and have been without starting forward Amir Coffey due to injury and starting center Reggie Lynch has since been dismissed from the team.

The winner of the Rutgers-Minnesota game will play the 6 seed, Indiana, on Thursday night at approximately 9 p.m.
