With Iowa defeating Northwestern on Sunday night, the Rutgers men's basketball team finished in last place of the Big Ten for the fourth consecutive season. As the 14 seed, they'll face the 11 seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers this Wednesday night in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. The game will begin at approximately 8 p.m., as it's the second game of the night. Illinois will face Iowa in the first game, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Both contests will be aired on BTN.

Rutgers (13-18; 3-15) lost at Minnesota 89-67 on December 3rd, which was the conference opener for both teams. Minnesota (15-16; 4-14) was at full strength during that meeting and have been without starting forward Amir Coffey due to injury and starting center Reggie Lynch has since been dismissed from the team.

My take:
Rutgers finishes in last place and will face Minnesota in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. Has been almost 3 months since they last played each other and while you would prefer have facing Iowa above all else, this is better than facing Illinois again. Fighting chance
