IF Rutgers can win this game, they will accomplish several things. They’ll have the most wins in a Big Ten regular season since joining the league four years ago. They’ll finish better than last place for the first time as well since becoming a Big Ten member. In addition, they’ll put themselves in position to have a more favorable draw in next week’s Big Ten Tournament. As a potential 12 seed, they would draw Iowa in the opener, a team they beat by 16 points earlier this season. However, today is about honoring the seniors and finishing the season strong with a victory.
Rutgers has an opportunity to redeem themselves after playing their worst game of the season in a 31 point loss to Illinois in the first meeting. Solving the pack line defense and winning the turnover margin are keys in this game for the Scarlet Knights. Let’s hope they can end things on a high note and send the seniors out in style!
