Kay’Ron Adams committed to Rutgers back in early September to average fanfare, but has since gotten more press as 247 composite now rates him the highest of any member of the current 2019 Rutgers Football recruiting class. He signed Wednesday.

The first thing that sticks out is on many plays he doesn’t seem to be running that fast, yet defensive players can’t catch up to him. The plays he breaks for long runs aren’t just to the perimeter, much of the time he is finding running lanes through the inside before making his own space. Adams isn’t as thick in his lower body as a Jawan Jamison or Jacki Crooks but with Kenny Parker’s strength program is it possible he grows into that body type.
Position: RB (5’10”, 198 lbs.)
High School: Warren G Harding,
Hometown: Warren, OH
Notable offers: Iowa (Minnesota also showed strong interest)
Running backs always have a chance to contribute early no matter how full the room looks. Even with Hilliman’s graduation, Raheem Blackshear and Isaih Pacheco each have plenty of eligibility remaining with Charles Snorweah in his final season. The depth at the position and special teams takes a hit with the loss of Trey Sneed. Of course Rutgers needs playmakers as much as possible and will get them all on the field even if they are all running backs.
Floor: Charles Snorweah
Most likely: Kordell Young
Potential: Jawan Jamison
