After playing just twice in the past two and half weeks, both upset losses, Rutgers returns to action in just its second road contest of the season against #13 Purdue. Only Big Ten opponents remain the rest of the regular season and tonight’s matchup is one of the two most difficult in Big Ten play for the Scarlet Knights. Purdue is ranked 3rd in the country per KenPom and the following road game for Rutgers will take place against 2nd ranked Michigan State next week.
One step at a time, as Steve Pikiell hopes to have his team play with much more fight and intensity against a premier opponent tonight than they did in disappointing defeats at the hands of Stony Brook and Hartford. It won’t be easy.
