Rutgers sophomore Jaci Cochrane was named 2018’s first Big Ten Women’s Athlete of the Week and is the first student in school history to earn the honor. This is also Cochrane’s first Athlete of the Week award of her career.

Last week, Cochrane led Rutgers with a 4-0 singles record and a 2-1 doubles record at the NJIT Invitational. She won the Singles Draw C title and advanced to the Doubles Draw A final before losing to fellow Scarlet Knights Mingxiu Du and Kat Muzik. She won all four singles matches in straight sets and dropped two or fewer games in six of those sets.

The team hosts Binghamton on Friday, January 26 in their first matchup of the spring semester at the East Brunswick Racquet Club at 12:30PM.
