3-Star Athlete Kessawn Abraham Commits To Rutgers Football

NCAA Football: Howard at Rutgers Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

After a slow start to the 2018 recruiting class, head coach Chris Ash and the staff are officially on a roll. This evening, 3-star athlete Kessawn Abraham from Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, New York committed to Rutgers football.

Abraham received an offer back in May and wasted little time in pledging to the program. While Rutgers was the only power five offer he held, he was receiving interest from Oregon, Florida, Ohio State, Boston College and Pitt, among others, according to 247 Sports.

The 5’10” Abraham was recruited by assistant coach Bill Busch and is projected to play cornerback in college. He is a former teammate of current Rutgers starting linebacker Deonte Roberts. He has had a strong offseason and performed very well at the Opening NJ Regional this spring.

Abraham’s commitment marks the fifth in just a week and gives the program seven total for the class of 2018. All of them are rated as 3-star recruits, including Quarterback Sean Chambers, who was upgraded this week.

The staff has been grinding things out on the recruiting trail and are starting to reap rewards from their hard work. With the commitment of Abraham, 247 Sports has Rutgers rising and up to 12th in the Big Ten, now ahead of Illinois and Indiana. They are now ranked 58th in the country for the 2018 class, as of today. There is plenty of progress still needed to be made, but things are certainly moving in the right direction.

Welcome to the banks, Kessawn!
