Well, that was fast. After committing on April 16 after an unofficial campus visit, Rachad Wildgoose Jr. decommitted today and is reopening his recruitment. The rangy defensive back had been heavily recruited by defensive backs coach Henry Baker, and his quick, high-power, aggressive style seemed to fit in well with the style of play Coach Ash and his staff have been promoting.
Wildgoose made his official announcement via Twitter earlier today:

The 3-star Northwestern (Miami, FL) was the first 2018 commit. At the time of his commitment, Rutgers was his only offer. Wildgoose Jr. had transferred schools three times in the last four years, which may have contributed to his lack of early offers. Since his commitment to Rutgers, Wildgoose Jr. has received offers from Power 5 schools such as Georgia, Florida, N.C. State, Maryland, Wisconsin and Oregon State, as well as other FBS schools.
With Wildgoose Jr.’s decommitment, the Scarlet Knights 2018 recruiting class is looking a bit lean but still high-quality, consisting of 3-star recruits Jalen Chatman (QB) and Jarrett Paul (DB). While Wildgoose Jr. played an important role in adding much-needed depth to the secondary, Ash has done a great job with recruiting thus far and I have no doubt he will continue to add key talent to the roster.
As for Wildgoose Jr., best of luck in finding the right fit for your college football career.
