The Tewaaraton Trophy is the college lacrosse version of the Heisman Trophy and is given to the best player in college lacrosse at the end of the season. 50 players were named to the initial watch list.
Henningburg is coming off a very successful 2016 season in which he was named First Team all Big Ten and finished with 39 goals and 21 assists. In 2017, he is the Scarlet Knights leading scorer with 9 goals and 4 assists.
Rutgers moved up in the rankings after their 4-0 start, which I covered here. They take on defending Tewaaraton Trophy winner Dylan Malloy and the Brown University Bears on Saturday at home, on the banks.
