Following an 8-3 win over Fairfield University on Saturday, Rutgers men’s lacrosse player Michael Rexrode was named the Big Ten Defensive player of the week. The Big Ten announced the awards today.

Rexrode finished with three groundballs and two caused turnovers and held Fairfield leading scorer Colin Burke scoreless.
This is the second weekly award won by the men’s lacrosse team.
Rutgers returns to action today against Wanger University before their biggest non-conference game, a battle against #18 ranked Brown University. Rutgers takes on Brown Saturday at home.
