I’m running out of hearts: Night after night, Rutgers gets so close, only to have it snatched from them. Fans hearts break and break, so I can only imagine what the players are going through. But they’re right there. A few more breaks, one extra play. Which leads me to...
They have to play a perfect game: This team grinds and plays hard and rebounds. But man, they have to play a perfect game to win. One mistake often leads them to the side of defeat. That’s what happens when you don’t have as much talent as other teams. But they’re right there night in and night out. Very interested to see what they bring against Maryland next week.
Long Rebounds: Michigan is not a great rebounding team, but they really took advantage of their missed shots tonight. Long threes give up long rebounds and Michigan kept tipping them out of the hands of Rutgers players. That killed the Scarlet Knights as the Wolverines got too many second chances.
The Final Play: Corey Sanders is one of the guys you want to have take that shot. But with 13 seconds left, I would have loved more ball movement. Get the ball to Mike Williams in rhythm and maybe he knocks it down. Corey got an open look, but off the dribble, I wasn’t sure if it was the best shot. Oh well.
