A 3-star rated cornerback, Young committed back on June 30th and remained firm in his commitment despite offers from other D-1 schools, including Maryland and Syracuse.
In a recent conversation with NJ.com, Young showed passion and determination to make an early impact in the Rutgers secondary. Standing at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, Young has the length and athleticism to compete as a boundary corner in the Big Ten.
While Young is committing early, he will not be able to enroll early with the University. It will be tough for Young to crack an experienced cornerback rotation in 2018, but he still projects as a promising prospect for the future Scarlet Knight defense.
Another commit from the state of Pennsylvania for the Rutgers coaching staff and another athlete piece of the Rutgers secondary of the future. Welcome to The Banks, Avery!
