Rutgers desperately needs a wide receiver that can create separation and become a playmaker. With losing senior and fan favorite Janarion Grant due to graduation, Jalen Jordan may be the piece to fulfill that role. Per 247 Sports, he held 10 scholarships offers, including power five schools Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee, UCLA, Boston College, and Georgia Tech. This is a major recruiting win for Ash and the staff as early signing day is just one week away.
Over the years, Rutgers has produced many NFL wideouts, including Kenny Britt, Mohamed Sanu, Brandon Coleman, and Leonte Carroo. The newest receiver to the program, Jalen Jordan possesses the talent and physical gifts to be the next big wide receiver for the Scarlet Knights. This is a great addition to the offense that is in major need for a talent upgrade at the skill positions. The possible connection between Jordan and Sitkowski from high school into their college careers at Rutgers could be a lot of fun to watch. Both commits are the highest ranked recruits in the 2018 class for Rutgers.
In regard to the 2018 recruiting class, Rutgers currently holds 21 verbal commits, including 19 3-star recruits and 1 4-star prospect. After the commitment from Jordan, the 2018 class for Rutgers is ranked 40th in the country and 8th in the Big Ten, per 247 Sports.
Here are highlights of Jordan during his senior season.
