Game Preview

SB Nation Penn State site: Black Shoe Diaries

Penn State, the losers in two straight games by four points combined, will be looking for blood in this game, set on homecoming weekend at Happy Valley. Rutgers comes in winners of three of its last four games, but still has nothing really to lose in this game. Hopefully, they can continue to make progress on the field and give Penn State a closer than expected battle. The Nittany Lions are 31 point favorites entering this game.

For Rutgers, they need to continue using the same formula: running the football and minimizing mistakes on offense, bend but don’t break on defense, and continue to put pressure on the opposition through above average special teams play. This game will certainly be a measuring stick for how far this team has come, as they enter the home stretch of year two of the Ash Era.
