The success of the Yankees this season has had an impact on Rutgers’ football and wrestling season, in regards to scheduling.

In an email just sent out to all season ticket holders, Athletic Director Pat Hobbs stated:

“We were looking forward to staging this historic event at Yankee Stadium. With two weeks until the date, it was important for us to finalize details that help ensure our fans and our student-athletes have a one-of-a-kind experience. As a result of the Yankees’ amazing postseason run, there were operational concerns that called for us to make a decision at this time. It was agreed that moving the game to High Point Solutions Stadium was the best option under the circumstances. We value our continuing partnership with the New York Yankees and will be cheering them on this weekend and hopefully in the World Series.”

The Big Ten will announce the start time and television designation for the football game at a later date. The time for wrestling will be released shortly after.

This could have presented a tremendous issue for season ticket holders as well as tailgating for the game, as parking passes for the 2017 season did not include parking for this game. Season ticket parking pass holders will be able to get a parking pass for the same lot at no additional cost. Cash parking lots will be run as they are done for all other games.

Season ticket holders will keep their normal seats for the game and receive a separate email with further instructions on how to receive them.

The Rutgers Athletics office plans to mail out parking permits to all season parking permit holders by Friday, October 27.
