Steve Pikiell may have CJ Gettys’ replacement on the roster and ready to play.
Four star recruit and suddenly reclassified center Mamadou Doucoure has been on campus since September, but eligibility questions remained. He’d been cleared to practice with the team, but the team was waiting to hear if he’d be able to participate in games.
Well, the NCAA answered today.
Doucoure will add another big man body with starter capabilities. With Shaquille Doorson coming back from injury and Myles Johnson considered to be a project that will blossom over time, the Scarlet Knights needed someone to fill that hole.
Early reviews say Doucoure is “Physically ready” to play. The practice time will help, but the early Rutgers schedule will prep him for actual game play.
This is excellent news as the Scarlet Knights begin practice and look to build on last year’s 15 win season.
