According to NJ.com, Rutgers Football Head Coach Chris Ash has hired former Nevada Associate Head Coach and Running Back Coach Lester Erb after the departure of Zak Kuhr. Kuhr is reportedly heading to Texas State to reunite with Everett Withers. This marks the second coaching change this off-season, after recently hiring former Minnesota Head Coach Jerry Kill to replace Drew Mehringer as the Offensive Coordinator.
Like Jerry Kill, Erb has extensive Big-Ten coaching experience and adds additional veteran experience to the offensive side of the ball, which includes a brief stint in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. Here is a look at Coach Erb’s resume:
2013-Present: Running Backs/Special Teams, Nevada
2008-12: Running Backs/Special Teams, Iowa
2000-07: Wide Receivers/Special Teams, Iowa
1999: Tight Ends, Army
1997-98: Assistant Coach, Baltimore Ravens
1994-96: Assistant Coach, Syracuse
1991-93: Wide Receivers, Hobart College
Welcome to the Banks Coach Erb and hats off to Coach Chris Ash for another solid veteran hire!
