R U Tailgater of the Week Material?

NCAA Football: Washington State at Rutgers Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

This season, On the Banks is going to choose one tailgate at every home game and name that group Tailgate of the Week. The staff will do deep research, spend hours and hours scouring every parking lot, and narrow the field from a group of ten finalists to a single winner each week.

Uh, no. Even if we had a staff doing it (we do not), that wouldn’t necessarily prove anything. So, what ARE we going to do?

Well, it is fairly simple. We will visit a different lot each week, walk around looking at the different set-ups our fans put together for their favorite tailgating operation, and choose one that looks like it exemplifies a true Scarlet Knight tailgater.

The group chosen will be interviewed, to find out about their background, how long they have been tailgating, what they enjoy most about tailgating at Rutgers, and anything else they would like to share with our readers.

Obviously, this is a major award! Each awardee will receive a certificate naming them as Tailgater of the Week, suitable for framing, and sharing at future tailgates. Also, they are great to use to brag to your neighbors at the next tailgate.

So, anyone who would like to have their tailgate considered, be sure to tweet me at @RURahFan. This week, we are going to focus our choice in the Dark Blue lot. Hope you are the lucky winner!
