Watch Chris Ash Talk Rutgers Debut After Loss

NCAA Football: Rutgers at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

New head coach Chris Ash addressed the media following his Rutgers debut, a game they lost 48-13 to #14 Washington. Ash was honest in his assessment of what the team needs to improve on and indicated “we have a lot of work to do.” He backed starting quarterback Chris Laviano, crediting his toughness and pointed out areas that he got better with as the game went on. I thought he handled the questions after the loss very well. He was quick to recall details of the game and was rational in his outlook on where team is at and the challenges that lie ahead.

It was a disappointing Rutgers debut for Chris Ash, but one that sets a clear starting point. Remain calm and let’s see how much progress this team can make week in and week out. Rutgers opens their home schedule next Saturday, September 10th at noon against Howard.
