Football Recruits React to Rutgers-Iowa

After a close loss to Iowa, how did Rutgers football recruits feel?

Rutgers' Big Ten season opener, a 14-7 loss to Iowa, was a mixed bag. Even though the offense struggled at times and the team lost two of its best players, Rutgers still looked competitive and was in it until the very end. The defense looked great and made it a ballgame, contributing to a great atmosphere. Here's what some potential future Scarlet Knights had to say about the game.

Highly touted wide receiver commit Bo Melton was in attendance, and seemed pretty stoked about his visit.

Fellow wide receiver Tyler Hayek also enjoyed his visit to the banks.

Meanwhile, linebacker commit Tyshon Fogg wasn't there, but he can't wait to take in a Scarlet Knight gameday.

4-star 2018 quarterback Allen Waters had a quality seat at Saturday's game.

Fellow 2018 quarterback recruit Joshua Zamont visited and met Coach Ash himself.

2018 cornerback recruit Travon King of Camden was in attendance, stopping for a photo op with a Rutgers legend.

And Nick Densieski, 2018 defensive end recruit, took in the game with a few teammates, including 2017 Rutgers commits Micah Clark and Jamaal Beaty.

Saturday's game may not have gone how Rutgers fans would like, but it seems the commits and recruits were encouraged by the competition and atmosphere at High Point Solutions Stadium. Hopefully Chris Ash and the Scarlet Knights can continue to make strides both on the field and the recruiting trail.
