Tailgater of the Week- New Mexico Edition

Our latest Tailgater of the Week has been coming to games at Rutgers since 1994, and has been officially tailgating for well over 10 years now. This week’s winner’s are Erik Wnuck and Matt Shepherd, and they started this particular group. Of course, Matt’s wife Alicia and Erik’s wife Andrea, who also corrals their children, also participate in this very family-friendly tailgate. Their other main stalwart Matt Bassista was on the West Coast and unable to attend the New Mexico game. Giuseppe and his wife also attend and the group are all Rutgers affiliated. Like most group tailgates, there are others who come in and out depending upon the week or the game, but the main group are always there.

These Yellow Lot stalwarts come fully equipped. Not only do we have TV tuned in running off their tablet’s data plan,

but of course carpeting,

as well as a special dish to go with the visit by the Lobos of New Mexico, stuffed jalapeno peppers, known as long hots!

Yes, this was a great tailgate. The steaks they were preparing looked fantastic, as you can see below.

In addition to all of this, there was kielbasa, buffalo chicken dip, and some great liquid refreshment.

So congratulations to Erik, Matt, and Matt, their friends and family, for their being named as On the Banks’ Tailgate of the Week!

Next week, we will travel to the Purple Lot to find our Tailgater of the Week. Let’s hope it is you!

Editor’s Note: This is the second edition of our season long “Tailgater of the Week” series. If you are looking for more information on the student tailgating closure, click here.
