What They Are Saying About Chris Ash Before Rutgers Debut

Head Football Coach Chris Ash meeting reporters rvc73

With Chris Ash making his head coaching debut with Rutgers tomorrow, I thought it was a good time to see what is being said and written about him in the media. Here are a few notable links with key quotes.

Only One Way To Go But Up

Evan Grossman of the NY Daily News wrote that “big-time college football has finally arrived at Rutgers”, due to Ash’s arrival. He discusses Ash’s background from Ohio State and includes several gushing quotes from Darius Hamilton regarding changes made.

ESPN CFB Analyst Kirk Herbstreit Raves About Ash

Keith Sargeant put out a great article this week interviewing the former Ohio State quarterback, who said so many positive things about Ash.

Herbstreit went on to say he thinks Rutgers can upset Washington this weekend and could be a “pain in the butt” for Big Ten teams this season.

BTN Interviews Darius Hamilton

Tom Dienhart held a Q&A with Hamilton, who spoke glowingly about the culture change Ash has made within the program.

The entire interview is worth a read, as Hamilton continues to demonstrate his team first attitude and why he is such a key leader for this program.

Chris Ash Talks to NY Post

Ash spoke with Steve Serby and was asked about what he wants the personality of Rutgers to be on the field:

And about goals for this season:

Lineman Are First Class At Rutgers

Ryan Dunleavy of NJ Advance Media revealed that another change by Ash is that offensive and defensive lineman will sit in first class on plane rides for away games. This was not the case before his arrival.

Dunleavy highlights how Ash has made players on both lines a priority within the program, including being able to eat first at team meals. Captain Chris Muller stated how much that means to them.

Radio Show Announced

It was announced that Chris Ash will host an hour long radio show every Wednesday at 7:30 throughout the season at Quaker Steak & Lube in Edison, NJ. It will be live streamed on RVision and played an hour later on WCTC-1450 AM. Fans are welcomed to attend.
