Last night was another edition of the Chris Ash Show, which is recorded and filmed at Quaker Steak & Lube in Edison, New Jersey. Ash is joined by co-hosts Chris Carlin and Eric LeGrand. Ash was very honest in his assessment of the team’s performance last Saturday against Howard. He also spoke about the season debut of Robert Martin, the emphasis the program has on life after football and academics, and the current quarterback situation.
Ash also addressed the change in dress code for the players before the game and for travel. Carlin thanked Ash for the new uniforms and cited how difficult the numbers were to read on the old uniforms. As much as we the fans complained about the old uniforms, imagine how difficult it was for Carlin calling the play by play for radio.
In regards to the multiple noon kickoff’s scheduled for this season, Ash stated why he loves that start time. He also took questions from callers and tweets sent in. It was fun to see him answer on the fly in a candid way. Ash also spoke in detail about this week’s matchup against New Mexico.
It is extremely refreshing to hear our head coach answer questions honestly and actually share his thought process in the decisions he makes. While Ash isn’t going to expose his full hand, he is much more forthcoming in sharing information than past coaches of the program. It is definitely worth a listen and we are just two days away from the second home game against New Mexico.
