NJ Advance Media's Keith Sargeant reported yesterday that Rutgers has finally settled the wrongful termination lawsuit with Eric Murdock. It took three and a half years and a reported $500K sum to agree to the settlement. Murdock was the whistleblower on former Rutgers Basketball head coach Mike Rice. He released practice tapes to ESPN showing Rice throwing basketballs at players and using slurs towards them. This not only resulted in Rice's firing, but athletic director Tim Pernetti ultimately resigned. The university previously settled with former player Derrick Randall over Rice's behavior as well. The good news is this finally brings closure to one of the worst incidents in school history.
