Report: Grad Transfer Center C.J. Gettys Commits to Rutgers Basketball

According to 247, Rutgers has landed a much needed graduate transfer at the center position.

UNC-Wilmington 7-0 center C.J. Gettys has committed to Rutgers as a graduate transfer. Averaged 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 2015-16.

Gettys is seven foot and will have one year of eligibility remaining.  He will help man a position that was littered with injuries last year, as Ibrahima Diallo missed major playing time, and Shaquille Doorson missed the entire season.  As both are battling to get healthy, Gettys will provide much needed depth.  Maybe more. He could be a factor on the defensive end as well, as he averaged 1.4 blocks per game last season.

As Steve Pikiell tries to land Jose Alvarado for 2017, this gives more depth for the Knights this season.
