While Rutgers fans are anxiously awaiting the start of the college football season, the NFL pre-season is in full swing. After a second week of games, there is not a lot of new information for Rutgers fans regarding former Scarlet Knights in the pros, but here are just a few nuggets:

Keith Lumpkin- The biggest story this week on Keith is his signing as a free agent for the Indianapolis Colts. Lumpkin had previously signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills, but had been released two months ago. This was announced by the Colts on their website yesterday afternoon.

Quentin Gause- The story on Quentin is that there is no story, which is a good thing. The Eagles have pared their roster to 84, and Gause is still on board.

Mohamad Sanu- Fans in Atlanta got to cheer “SAANUUUUUUUU” three times last Thursday in the Falcon 24-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. He gained a total of 45 yards in his effort, and looks like he may become a favored target by Falcon’s QB Matt Ryan.

Jeremy Zuttah- The Ravens center is still working his way back onto the squad after a torn pectoral muscle last season sidelined the former Scarlet Knight. At the time of his injury, Zuttah was rated the #8 center in the NFL, so I am sure that John Harbaugh and company are anxious to have him back in form. The recovery from this injury has not stopped him from being a mentor to rookies, however, as he is given a shoutout in an ESPN.com story about former Nebraska lineman Alex Lewis. Lewis is attempting to get a spot on the Raven’s roster this season.

We will continue to get you updates on former Scarlet Knights in the NFL as the season progresses.
