Rutgers' 2017 class continued it's incredible growth on Saturday, as defensive tackle recruit Darius Stills announced his commitment to the Scarlet Knights today.
Rutgers' recruitment of the 6-3, 280-pounder moved quickly. Stills made his first visit to Rutgers last month on June 24th. Just two days later, Stills announced he had received a scholarship offer from the Scarlet Knights. Throughout the following weeks, the Fairmont, West Virginia product continued to express his interest in Rutgers on Twitter before revealing earlier this week that he would be back on the banks today.
Before visit's end, Stills became a Rutgers commit.
A three-star recruit according to 247Sports, Stills is ranked the No. 8 recruit in the Mountain State. He currently holds a total of five offers. In addition to Rutgers, Stills received offers from Appalachian State, Kent State, UMass, and Liberty. He also received interest from West Virginia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and others.
The Scarlet Knight's recruiting class has now reached Blackjack, as Stills is the 21st commit for the 2017 class. His commitment puts Rutgers at No. 21 in 247Sports' national class rankings. Chris Ash continues to do a good job recruiting out of state, as Stills is the 7th out of state commit, and West Virginia is the sixth state to be represented in the class.
