Rutgers Football Opening Game Kickoff Time Announced

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

It was announced today that Rutgers football will open their season at 2 p.m. eastern standard time and 11 a.m. pacific standard time on September 3rd on the road against the Washington Huskies in Seattle. Unfortunately for Rutgers fans traveling for this game, the tailgating will be during the morning only. The game will be televised on the PAC-12 Network.

The last two times Rutgers opened their season on the road on the west coast, they played night games at Fresno State in 2013 and at Washington State in 2014.

Washington opened as almost three touchdown favorites over Rutgers for the 2016 season opener.  The spread opened at -20.5 for Washington and is currently at -22.  ESPN included Washington in their Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings earlier this spring. The Huskies are one of five opponents Rutgers will play this season that are included in the rankings.

The Chris Ash era of Rutgers football officially kicks off in 94 days!
