St. Joseph OT Nick Krimin committed to Rutgers nearly a year ago, and has made it official and signed with the Scarlet Knights on Wednesday.
The big man picked Rutgers over offers from Duke, Miami, Pitt, Temple, Syracuse, West Virignia, and others. He originally pledged to the Scarlet Knights on February 12, 2015. Despite strong interest from Miami and Pitt, Krimin stayed true to Rutgers.
Krimin certainly has the size to make an impact at the collegiate level at 6-6, 320. That being said, Rutgers tends to redshirt or limit freshmen to backup duties, so we might not see much of Krimin in 2016. But he could be a very valuable piece in the coming years.
Freshman Impact Index: 3 - This isn't an indictment on Krimin's skill, but an acknowledgement of the players ahead of him. Rutgers returns four offensive line starters from last season, with most of the backups returning as well. Wouldn't be shocked to see Krimin redshirt, but his future is looking bright either way.
