Around the Big Ten

Wrestler of the Week.....And it's about time!

Rutgers wrestling redshirt senior Anthony Perrotti was named the Big Ten Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office. Perrotti (19-3) helped No. 13 Rutgers to a 2-0 weekend to close the Big Ten Conference dual season, ending RU's stay in Indiana with a pin against No. 7 Chad Welch (Purdue) in 1:35.

Perrotti is the first Scarlet Knight to earn the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week Award. His weekend began with a 10-0 major decision in the 30-9 dual win at Indiana. Against No. 7 Chad Welch in Sunday's 24-15 win at No. 23 Purdue. Perrotti was taken down nine seconds into the match and spent a minute trying to get away from the Boilermaker. The match changed dramatically 1:10 into the first period, as Perrotti rolled on the restart and reversed Welch. On the reversal, Perrotti caught Welch's arm, which he turned into a fall and thrilling win.

We are satisfied.  There will be no investigation.
