From everyone here at On The Banks, we wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or anything else, we hope you have a safe and happy time with your families. On the first day of Hanukkah and it being Christmas, here is a roundup of various positive contributions made by Rutgers Athletic teams and notable activities performed this holiday season. Remember, life is so much more important than just the games we play.

We start it off with a fun fact about one of the best movies of all-time, holidays or not!

Favorite son Eric LeGrand was on Good Morning America on Thursday and continues to inspire the world!

Rutgers Athletics held their first ever Dodgeball Holiday Fundraiser earlier this month and this video by RVision highlights the action. The Wrestling team won the championship!

Various teams within the Rutgers athletic department participated in other holiday activities within the community. It is great to see that Rutgers puts a priority on our young men and women student athletes giving back to the world around them. Here is a round up of what I found:

Men’s Basketball

Field Hockey

Football

Women’s Soccer

Wrestling

Women’s Lacrosse

While this wasn’t holiday specific, it’s great to see the women’s lacrosse program educating kids on such an important topic. This team has always flourished academically as well!

Men’s Lacrosse

If I missed any teams participating I apologize and send them to us on twitter and I’ll add in.

A bunch of athletic departments were tweeting out different holiday videos this week and this was the one from Rutgers.

Almost every sports team tweeted out a happy holiday’s message, but I went with this one instead.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah today! Everyone holiday responsibly!
