With National Signing Day approaching, the Class of 2017 continues to get stronger.

Teasing his commitment announcement all week long, Brendan Bordner finally made it public where he’ll be playing football for the next four years.

Bordner, a 3-star strong-side defensive end, is the 47th ranked SDE and the 38th best prospect in the state of Ohio, according to 247sports.com.

The 6-foot-5 defensive end terrorized offensive lineman all throughout Ohio, using his impressive strength to plow through his opposition.

This commitment is one that Rutgers football fans should be excited about - not just because of Bordner’s skill set, but because of how he landed at Rutgers.

After his visits to Rutgers on December 2nd and West Virginia on December 9th, it was assumed that West Virginia was the leader in the clubhouse by a wide margin. Instead, Coach Ash and company were able to lockdown their 7th out-of-state commit and their first commit from the state of Ohio.

With Bordner now on board, he is the 8th ranked commit of the 2017 class (according to 247Sports) in a class that now stands at 20. It will be exciting to see who else Rutgers can add before February 1st, but this is a sign of good things to come.

Welcome to The Banks, Brendan!
